I cook when I’m happy and I bake when I’m sad

‘A lonely lime amongst other citrus’

Baking is my guilty pleasure. (Correction. Baking is another one of my coping mechanisms.) Much like humor, I use it to sugar coat my feelings and whisk myself away from what is really going on. Baking is one thing I am able to control when the world and my feelings are doing up higgy hagga (1).  Exact measurements and precise timings help soothe the pedantic organiser in me. Whilst baking times and waiting for things to prove allow me to practice patience and just think.

When I cook it ain’t a joke ting. I’m marinating the night before, chopping in the morning and garnishing just before it hits the IKEA dinner table.

A procedure like this can not be done when you are feeling down.

And let’s be honest, when you’re depressed all you want to do is stuff your gob with bread, cakes and other various sweet treats. (I understand this is a little problematic but I don’t smoke or drink so let me have some h’enjoyment.)

Footnotes and foolishness

  1. higgy hagga (adjective/noun) It is used to deceive something mad and exciting or it can be used to describe nonsensical things.

Oh and ‘Sold my phone to get home pt.3’ is coming soon I promise.

But I got writer’s block and really should be finishing another project (Lol).

Regardless, thank you for your patience.

Nuff Love.
